About me
Fanfarillus a.k.a. Ces | Freelance Illustrator | Lincolnshire, East Midlands, UK
As they say in the land of my mystical origins... "Ayup me ducks! 🦆" - thank you so much for visiting my website!
I’ve been known by many names… Franny… Frankenstein… Cesca… But you, dear reader, can call me “Ces”! (Pronounced like the black and white board game and thankfully not like the term for an underground tank that stores sewage and wastewater...that alternative sounds like it could be the makings of a villain origin story.)
On this website, you'll find my online store which includes an array of stickers, prints and zines featuring my illustrative works (and with more variety to come!). Everything included on my store I make solely myself from start to finish (designing, illustrating, printing, laminating, die-cutting, folding, binding, packaging etc. etc. etc.). I've also started a blog where I hope to delve deeper into my process, thoughts and ideas behind projects and share resources for other Illustrators. I have a portfolio page of my work currently in development that will be published in the very near future.
I caught the art “bug” at the ripe old decrepit age of ten when I started drawing comics (and later animatics) of some teddy-bear-keychains I was particularly fond of for the amusement of my little brother, family and school friends and never looked back, studying art and later Illustration all the way into University.
I work with both traditional and digital mediums and have taken inspiration from a lot of sources over the years, from greetings cards, animation (UPA revival style especially), games, comics, film, literature, music, the renaissance period (blame my Italian genes) and Art Nouveau. I’ve especially always had a love for expressive artwork/stories that are unabashedly vibrant and hammy.
A continuous thread of passion for me has been the sequential arts and visual development, I love good-humoured tales with a lot of heart and vulnerability and I find there’s such excitement in creating new unique worlds, characters and stories and taking inspiration from what we see in the day to day, whether that be from nature, architecture or one another.

So what's a "Fanfarillus"?
It's a portmanteau!
"Fanfarillus" is the combination of my surname (which translates to “a small fanfare”) and an abbreviation of the word “Illustration”.
It was a happy coincidence that they came together quite aptly.
